I desired an organization that will empower me financially and socially - By Tobiko Nkuraiyia
I joined the Society in 2014 when I used to work for Tribe Hotel. I desired an organization that will empower me financially and socially. That’s when I was introduced to Kentours Sacco and Kentours Housing.
Kentours Housing has enabled me acquire plots through flexible and personalized financial system. They also came through for me during Covid 19 period by allowing me pay for the plots in the most flexible way.
The plots will be of help to my family and the Narok community whereby Olchekut Community based health second unit will be built.
Olchekut Community based health unit is a community healthcare provider based in Narok, Kenya. Has been a beacon of healthcare since its establishment in 2003. The facility stands as a dedicated provider of quality health services, focusing on the well-being of the community.
There was need for expansion to efficiently serve our community. We were looking for a suitable place near Narok town that is easily accessible. In 2017, we learnt that Kentours Housing Co-operative Society were selling plots in Ilmashariani Off Narok –Maai Mahiu Road, 700meters from tarmac. The location, price and topography clearly met our expectations. With the support of a long serving member in the hospitality industry, Tobiko Nkuraiyia, we bought several plots with them. These will help us construct an outpatient & inpatient level 3 Hospital. The Hospital unit will host 300 patient rooms, laboratory, theatre, delivery room and other hospital room amenities.
Motto: “Eretoto O’losho”: Derived from the Maasai language, our motto, “Eretoto O’losho,” translates to the help of the community. This phrase encapsulates the essence of our mission-to actively contribute to the well-being of the community and support them in achieving optimal health.
In essence, Olchekut Community Base Health Unit stands as a testament to its dedication to community health, with a focus on compassion, accessibility, and excellence in healthcare services.
Kentours Housing Co-operative truthfully empowers members economically and they have as well lived as per our Maa mantra “Eretoto O’losho”.
